The Play and the Players: Arsenal Sarandi vs Banfield 1-0

In this new episode of “The Play and the Players” segment, we will take an In-depth analysis of a game or a particular player.

Today, we will analyze Julian Carranza’s performance during his Superliga Argentina’s game with Banfield versus Arsenal Sarandi.

The first match of the season for Banfield, an away game versus Arsenal Sarandi; and they lost 1-0. A lot of regrets for Banfield, as they clearly dominated their opponent overall, shooting 13 times but not managing to score. Keeping a 63% possession during the game, they still got punished by a – very contestable – penalty just before half-time. The second half saw a very aggressive Banfield, and we had to wait until the 67th minute to finally observe our new player Julian Caranzza live.

And let’s say we were not disappointed. Julian has Football written all over his moves. At the 76th minute, he breaks the left-wing and provides a beautiful pass to Nicolas Bertolo. Unfortunately, the left foot shot did not make it, as Bertolo moved to a challenging angle. The next one came 9 minutes later, Banfield was pushing hard, hoping for an equalizer. 85th minute: Carranza wins a good free kick on his left-wing. Unfortunately, Banfield will not transform.

A loss for Banfield, but an interesting start of the season for Julian Carranza! We can’t wait to see more of him, and hope that he starts some games too.
