- According to various Argentinian sources, Inter Miami could soon complete the signing of Matias Pellegrini for around $10 million.
Matias Pellegrini is only 19 years old, and has played 23 games at Estudiantes de La Plata – an Argentinian professional football club based in ‘La Plata’.
Pellegrini made his first debut in the Copa Argentina playing against Central Córdoba under the leadership of Leandro Benítez, and had an outstanding performance.
The left midfielder from La Plata has been linked with Inter Miami and has broken his silence on the transfer rumors last week, when he said:
“I like the MLS, and the team [Inter Miami], but the club is managing it with my agent”
Pelligrini had a great impact on his team throughout the start of the season. However, his season was cut short after suffering a muscle injury.
His last game took place in the Round of 16 of the Super league cup, where he scored the equalizer in the first leg and saved his team from defeat after the game ended 1-1.
As indicated by the club’s Medical Staff, Matias Pellegrini suffered a “Grade 2 Muscle injury” in the left bicep, which left him out of the second leg, and also took away his chances of competing in the Under 20 World Cup in Poland.
The Argentinian Midfielder could cost Inter Miami $10 million, and could be signed by the end of July according to Jorge Mas.
David Beckham has expressed his interest in signing South American players, and Matias Pellegrini wouldn’t be the first Argentinian to join the club.
Inter Miami has agreed to sign 19-year-old forward Julian Carranza on June 22. The Argentinian striker will reportedly sign on a $6 million deal. According to TyC Sports.
