With the arrival of Koeman as the new coach, most players are being shown the door. Any deal we can afford?
Fundamental day in Barcelona. After the historic drop received Friday (8-2 defeat against Bayern Munich), the Blaugrana club must reinvent itself. And it started with a board meeting this Monday morning (dismissal of Quique Setién, early elections or not …). The Daily Sport dropped the first bomb. Almost everything must disappear. Indeed, only a few players are now considered untransferable.
The Untouchables? Lionel Messi (since the Spanish press refuses for the moment the information according to which he has already made the decision to leave), Frenkie De Jong, Riqui Puig, Ansu Fati, to which must be added the last young recruits (Trincão type). Everything else is for sale. And that’s a lot of people! There are those that Barca has already been trying to get rid of for some time, like Ivan Rakitic or Arturo Vidal.
An opportunity for Miami?
The goal is clear, it is to make money, and to give a much greater room for maneuver than expected in the transfer market. It is nearly $200 million that the Barca board wants to recover from this transfer window. All this would have already been established between the different components of the club Blaugrana. Even if it means releasing some players from their contract! Indeed, Barça would be ready to leave free the players who no longer feel concerned by the project. And that could be good for Inter Miami CF!
This echoes Gerard Pique’s statement just after the loss to Bayern, where he said he was ready to leave if necessary. This strategy must be definitively validated by the club’s board of directors and will be communicated upon the arrival of the new coach. Who are the players who will take the first flight?
