Carlos Vela became the first Mexican to be elected MVP of the MLS season. With 69.6% of the vote, the 30-year-old forward beat Zlatan Ibrahimovic (14.11% of the vote) and the Venezuelan Atlanta United, Josef Martinez (6.97%). The latter was the titleholder.
The former Arsenal or Real Sociedad has scored 34 goals during the regular season, as well as 2 new achievements during the play-offs. He also delivered 15 assists throughout the season. His Los Angeles FC team was eliminated in the conference final by Seattle Sounders (3-1). They will face Toronto FC in the MLS final Saturday. Hopefully next year, the MVP will be an Inter Miami CF player!
