The 2020 MLS SuperDraft will take place on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 12 p.m. ET. Inter Miami CF will use this opportunity to polish its roster and get ready for the MLS start in March.
The MLS SuperDraft is divided into four part. Every MLS franchise can pick players coming from the best collegiate system. There will be a list of players released on Monday, Dec. 30.
Expansion teams like IMCF are awarded the first and third overall picks in the draft, followed by teams that did not make the cut for the MLS playoffs, starting from the last performer. Those teams are then followed by groups of teams that were eliminated in the same round of the playoffs, also in order. Nashville will have the second pick.
The club websites explains us that Inter Miami acquired the third-overall pick in the draft via a trade with FC Cincinnati in exchange for $150,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM), and that the Club also controls its natural fourth round selection in the draft.
The draft will be streamed live on Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and the ESPN app, as the show will be jointly produced by the MLS and ESPN. The broadcast will give fans a live look at players and club staff members as the draft unfolds. We will also report on our social media.
